Have you ever wondered how two people who get the same number of bookings per party, earn a different amount of money per week?!
It’s not just about how many bookings you get per week, but WHEN you date those bookings into your calendar – HOW SOON you schedule your upcoming parties.
Take Steady Sandra and Go Getter Gloria, two party consultants, for example. They both get 2 bookings per party, but Steady Sandra books her parties three or four weeks ahead, while Go Getter Gloria books her parties closer – two or three weeks ahead. (We call this ‘Close-Dating’). Gloria ends up earning more money each week and you’re probably wondering how is that even possible!
I’ll show you… I will also explain today how I manage to squeeze ten bookings into one week. Let’s break this down into 3 sections:
- An eye-opening statement that will catch your attention and leave you wondering why you have never been shown this before!
- Next, we’re going to contemplate WHY you should be using this strategy and WHEN is the best time to use it.
- We’re here to learn all the HOW’s of party plan business, so I’m going to teach you exactly that – how everyone can achieve the maximum result and book up to 10 bookings per week!
Eye-Opening Statement
You CAN do more parties per week with the bookings you already get! That practically means you will be able to earn more money per week with the bookings you already have, isn’t that neat?!
When we look at Sandra and Gloria’s case, we see that even though they both get an equal number of bookings per party, Steady Sandra dates them 3 to 4 weeks ahead and Go Getter Gloria dates her parties 2 to 3 weeks ahead; when we distribute this trend across a 6-week period, Gloria ends up with twice as many bookings than Sandra! No need to translate that for you, right?!
What I’m showing you here is how crucial the date that you choose for your hostess is. Many of us have never thought of this before until someone points it out like this in a diagram or a picture.
Many of us don’t realize that the date we choose for our party has a huge impact on how much money we make per week and how many bookings go ahead per week. If you can just bring those party dates in closer, you will end up doing so many more parties every single week and making a lot more income, which is what we all want, isn’t it? That’s what fills our calendar and the bookings keep coming in when we continue this at every party we do.
The only difference between Steady Sandra and Go Getter Gloria is the date that they choose to book their future hostess parties. But, look at the difference.
In six weeks, Go Getter Gloria has eight bookings. And Steady Sandra only has four bookings. Go Getter Gloria is making twice as much money in these 6 weeks and the only difference is the date that she picked for her hostess’ party booking.
Why/When Should I Use This Strategy?
Here’s 4 suggested times when you might want to focus on a big week with up to 10 bookings per week (or whatever number is right for you and your goals):
- Company incentives happening. (Eg. If you do a certain number of sales per week/month, or earn a certain number of points per week/month, recruit new team members to earn points you may win a prize, travel trip etc.)
- Company promotions & specials. (Eg. Your company may release a sale on your products for a limited time & you wish to hold as many parties as possible while the promotion is running.)
- You need to earn more money/income for something special you are saving for or to pay unexpected bills.
- Your weekend bookings are full and you want to focus your new bookings into your weekdays or your quiet times & gaps in your calendar.
Okay, How do I do That?
There are two main strategies that will help you squeeze more bookings into one week.
- The first one is Bookings Funnel. The entire philosophy behind this method is giving our potential hostess alternate choice questions; alternate, but not yes/no questions.
After you get a yes to booking a party with you, ask your hostess whether she prefers a weekend or a weekday for her party. Suggest two dates that are close, one the next week and the other a week after that. This way we successfully avoid the problem of our hostess suggesting to book a party in three months away, for example! The science behind this method is that by giving a person alternatives it makes the decision-making process much easier for them. Of course, both alternatives are equally okay for you.
EXAMPLE:
Let’s imagine that Aimee has said yes to booking a party with me. The first thing I’m going to say to Aimee is, “Aimee, what’s better for you? Would you prefer to do a weekday or would or a weekend party?
What I’m doing here is I’m giving Aimee two alternate choices. I’m not leaving it at as an open-ended question where I just say to Aimee, “Aimee, what date do you want to book your party?” And she might say, “Three months away would be great.” No! You want to stay in control. You want to be able to get these parties dated into the next two or three weeks.
When you use alternate choice questions like, “What would you prefer to do, Aimee, a weekday or a weekend?” Our human brain works easier and faster if we have two options to choose from. We are giving Aimee two options that are both positive. They’re both a yes to definitely dating the party in. So all Aimee is working out is, “Do I want it on a weekday or do I want it on a weekend?” It’s so easy. That’s the first step.
And then we call this the bookings funnel because we’re going to continue with alternate choice questions and work our way down.
Aimee says she wants her party on a weekend. Then, you look at your calendar and you look for the first two weekend dates that you’ve got available and you’re offering her the two earliest dates and you might say to Aimee, “What would you prefer, Saturday the 6th, this weekend or Sunday the 14th, the next one after that?” And she chooses Sunday the 14th.
Then, I’m going to say to Aimee, “Aimee, what’s better for you? Do you want a morning or do you want an afternoon party?”
She says afternoon. And then all I’ve got to do to finish is say something like, “I normally do my Sunday afternoon parties at either 2 PM or 3 PM. What time is best for you?”
And she might say, “Oh I think 2 PM is great. That way, we can be finished up and let everyone enjoy their Sunday evening at home.” So then, you say, “Great. Aimee, we’ve chosen Sunday the 14th at 2 PM.” You then write her name on your calendar and let her know that you’re going to get the hostess party pack with invitations for her to use, and that is it. She’s booked in. Simple. Done.
- The second method of how to squeeze in more bookings into one week is by offering a bonus gift box. This is especially convenient for periods when your weekends are booked out, and you’d like to hint to your hostess to book a party on a weekday. You basically offer her to choose anything from the gift box of giveaway products that you have in stock if she decides to book a party on a weekday. These bonus gift boxes can contain deleted/retired products or something you can buy in a promotional discount from your company or at least something as a gift you find in a dollar store.

If you combine these two strategies together, using the booking funnels to book parties close together, and the bonus gift boxes to fill in your weekdays, your calendar will be on fire.
So, it’s not just about HOW to get bookings; it is also about WHEN you schedule them. If you squeeze more bookings in one week, you will be able to do more parties in general and earn more cash per week. Achieve this by using booking funnels and bonus gift boxes.
